The Top 10 sites open the next round of the .INFO-Award

Internet users can now vote for their favorite Web site

MUNICH, GERMANY - 28. April 2008 - The judges of the .INFO Award have made their selections of the top ten .INFO websites out of several hundred submissions. Entries were received from sites covering tourism, wellness, web design, copyright, social involvement, and sports.

On the short list are:

In the second phase of the competition Internet users can vote for their favorite site until May 25, 2008. Users can vote at www.info-award.info. These scores will be combined with scores from a select panel of judges to decide which. INFO-site is the best in 2008.

The panel of judges is composed of five experts of the online sector: Philipp Grabensee, Chairman of the Afilias Board of Directors; Dominik Grollmann, chief editor of INTERNET WORLD Business; Tania Leuschner, Head Of Content Operations Marketing live! of Vodafone D2 GmbH; Christian Paavo Spieker, CEO of One Advertising AG; and Richard Wein, CEO of nic.at.

The winner of the .INFO award will receive 10,000 euros. The second and third places will be awarded 5,000 euros and 3,000 euros respectively. All winners will be announced by online business newspaper “INTERNET WORLD Business” in June 2008.

The Award is created by global domain name registry Afilias in media-cooperation with INTERNET WORLD Business. The .INFO-Award is sponsored by Huynh Communications, InterNetX, Key-Systems, Sedo, as well as united-domains.
