.INFO IDN scripts available!

According to Global Reach (www.glreach.com ), 60% of Internet users are now non-English speakers, while the predominant language used on the Net is English.

Recently technical standards have been adopted to enable the registration of internationalized domain names (IDNs), or names that are represented by native language, non-ASCII characters. Following the finalization of these standards, Afilias has announced support for the following language scripts:

DA – Danish
DE – German
HU – Hungarian
IS – Icelandic
KO – Korean
LT – Lithuanian
LV – Latvian
PL – Polish
SV – Swedish
ES – Spanish

With the launch of IDNs, Internet users are able to register domain names containing international characters. An example is: müller.info

With the availability of IDN scripts in .INFO, the non-English speaking public now has the ability to obtain Web and email addresses that were previously unavailable.
